Startup company Michigan Potash & Salt Co. continues to press its ill-advised plan to build a massive potash mine atop the vulnerable Bullkill Marsh wetlands system in Evart, Michigan.

We support our colleagues in grassroots activism against the Evart potash mine: Michigan Citizens for Water Conservation. In their own words:
"The state permitted a Colorado company to extract and destroy over 1,200 gallons per minute of Michigan’s groundwater for a new potash mine. Nestlé/Blue Triton’s impact on the environment from water extraction would pale compared to this proposed mine. This project will be a disaster for residents, businesses, and the mid-Michigan ecosystem."
The proposed mine would pump over 3 million gallons of water per day through its sulfide brine mining process, endangering Michigan’s aquifers for generations to come.
Michigan Citizens for Water Conservation has collected a great deal of research on the potential impacts of the proposed potash mine.
